In the upcoming Worcestershire County Council elections on May 1st, the Bromsgrove Conservatives are set to field nine candidates across all the divisions, aiming to strengthen their representation and address key local issues. The candidates and their respective divisions are as follows:
Helen Jones – Bromsgrove South
On 1st May, you will have the opportunity to choose who will represent you Worcestershire County Council. For the past 18 years, I've had the privilege of serving residents as a District Councillor. It has been an absolute honour, and I have worked tirelessly to support those in need— whether responding to emergencies such as homes on the brink of flooding or assisting residents with everyday issues like lost wheelie bins, and everything in between. My track record speaks for itself, I know how to get stuff done! I now want to build on the strong relationships I have with various partners to ensure you have the County Councillor you deserve.
Shirley Webb - Woodvale
It has been a pleasure to represent the Woodvale Division at Worcestershire County Council since 2017, I am passionate about prevention work for Adult Social Care and loves working with the community on projects such as our recent orchard planting.
Karen May – Clent Hills
My journey into politics began after a devastating flood in my village in the early 2000s sparking my commitment to serving our community. Although I have proudly served as a Parish Councillor for 19 years, it is through my role as the Leader of Bromsgrove District Council since 2019, having been elected in 2015, that I have become deeply engaged in addressing the real needs of our communities. I stand for re-election because I recognise the real life challenges that we in our communities face.
Kit Taylor – Bromsgrove East
Kit Taylor Bromsgrove East. I have had the honour to be your county councillor since 2017 and have worked hard to make sure that our area stays a safe and secure place to live, work and bring up a family. In my role as the Chairman of the Fire authority I am committed to ensuring front line services are protected and expanded . I am committed to continuing supporting the schools and sports clubs of our area. As a resident and your councillor I am committed to positive solutions to our infrastructure difficulties and will continue to hold those responsible to account.
Adrian Kriss – Bromsgrove Central
Adrian Kriss for Bromsgrove Central - “I have worked and lived in the heart of Bromsgrove for over 40 years and have been the County Councillor for Beacon, actively contributing to 3 scrutiny panels. I want to use my experience gained over the last 4 years to make much needed improvements here in central Bromsgrove, whilst guiding us through the transition towards a unitary authority.
I believe that party politics should not play a part in local elections and local matters, and local elections are about local issues. The person you elect brings your voice and their experience to the table at County Council.
In Bromsgrove Central, we have six schools in very close proximity causing traffic gridlock at school times. I will improve bus services and active travel especially around schools and improve traffic flow, thus also reducing air pollution.
I wish to bring back PACT meetings, or the community equivalent, so that your local voice can once again be heard, and your elected members held accountable.
As a dynamic and committed “action man” councillor you will always see me running or cycling around the area. Vote Kriss on May 1st and let’s get positive. 😀
Rita Dent – Bromsgrove West
Rita Dent is a dedicated public servant with a history of representing the Bromsgrove community through various roles in local government. Danny Bromage – Alvechurch
About Me & Why I’m Standing for County Council
I’m Danny Bromage, a veteran with 25 years experience of serving my country, a dedicated Worcestershire foster carer, and a passionate advocate for our local community. I’ve spent my life leading, problem-solving, and delivering results in high-pressure environments, skills I now want to bring to Worcestershire County Council to fight for real, common sense solutions.
Living in the Alvechurch Division, I see the challenges we face every day, rural crime, infrastructure pressures, road safety concerns, health and social care, and the struggles of local businesses.
Our communities deserve representation that listens, takes action, and delivers.
My campaign isn’t about party politics and I’m not a politician, it’s about people. I will work hand in glove with fellow Councillors and our MP, to ensure we get the best deal for our area. I believe in creativity, collaboration, and determination to make a real difference.
If elected, I will champion safer roads, better services, support for rural businesses, and the enhancement of our green spaces. I will stand up for local families, young voters, our elderly residents, and stand as an advocate for veterans and service families.
This is our community, and together, we can build a better future.
Vote for action. Vote for community. Vote Danny Bromage.
Together We Can!
