Following new and compelling information being discovered in relation to our District Council candidate for Bromsgrove Central, the Bromsgrove Conservative Association acted swiftly to conduct an urgent investigation, as a result of which, we have accepted the resignation of Luv Datta as our official candidate on Wednesday 12th April.

A spokesperson for the Bromsgrove Conservative Association said:

"Mr. Datta has accepted that he failed to disclose all relevant information in his application to stand as a Conservative candidate. He has tendered his resignation, and it has been accepted. He will no longer represent the Conservative Party in the forthcoming local elections.”

Mr. Datta will still appear on the ballot paper (as it is too late to change these and they have already been printed), but he will not be an official Conservative Party candidate and we will not be campaigning on his behalf.
