Nailers Yard in Bromsgrove.

Conservative-led Bromsgrove District Council is urging all town centre businesses to help shape the future of the area as plans are put in place to deliver the new Town Centre Strategic Framework (TCSF).

The TCSF sets out the vision for creating a more vibrant, welcoming, and successful town centre, in line with the Council Plan, and local businesses are being asked to play a central role in turning that vision into a reality.

The first stage is the creation of a Town Centre Steering Group. A new business‑led panel that will help shape projects, share ideas and ensure the town centre business community drives future decisions.

Businesses can nominate themselves to join the steering group by contacting the Centres Manager or completing an online form now applications are live. The deadline for applications is 17 April 2026.

To stay up to date with related news, businesses can join the town centre business mailing list by emailing their contact details to the Centres Manager at [email protected].

Residents and community groups are also asked to pass this message on to any town centre business owners who would benefit but are not yet on the mailing list.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Karen May, said:

“Supporting local businesses and growing a thriving, resilient economy is a key priority in our Council Plan. We want a town centre where businesses feel they belong and can prosper, and this work is a vital step in making that happen. We encourage all town centre traders to stay connected, get involved and have a say in shaping Bromsgrove’s future.”

As part of the plan, the Council is also exploring whether a Business Improvement District (BID) could help deliver extra services and improvements to local businesses and visitors. A BID can only be created if businesses vote for it, so before anything is decided, council partners Heartflood have started reaching out to all Town Centre businesses to gather opinions and develop a feasibility study. Businesses are encouraged to talk to Heartflood about their views.
