Bradley Thomas MP voted to back more North Sea drilling.

Bradley Thomas MP has voted in Parliament to back more North Sea drilling to protect 200,000 jobs, raise billions more in tax revenue and to support the UK's energy security.

Last night, Labour MPs had the chance to back the Conservatives' plans to Get Britain Drilling in the North Sea and save British refineries. Instead, Labour MPs voted against the Conservatives' amendment and only one Reform MP bothered to show up and vote.

Labour think that shutting down our North Sea oil and gas industry and making us dependent on foreign imports, will make us more energy secure. They are deluded.

Drilling in the North Sea reduces our reliance on imports, will protect 200,000 jobs and will raise billions in tax revenue which can be used to cut other taxes. The Conservatives' amendment would have ensured this and the revival of British refineries.

Labour, Reform and SNP MPs had the chance to stand up for Aberdeen and British industry but instead blindly followed Miliband and Starmer. Only one Reform MP voted for the Conservatives' measures showing that they are unserious about saving our oil and gas industry and bringing down energy bills.

Only the Conservatives have a leader with a backbone and the plan to Get Britain Drilling to build a stronger economy and a stronger country.

Following the vote, Bradley said:

"Last night I voted to back more North Sea oil and gas drilling while Labour MPs voted against it.

"In quite the turn of events, overnight Starmer and Miliband announced that they were loosening sanctions so that Britain can take more oil that originated from Russia.

"So, Labour has chosen for less domestic supply and to instead import oil that props up a dictator.

"Insanity. You couldn’t make this up."
