“By coming together, residents have saved this vital community service” Bradley Thomas MP has said following the announcement that Bromsgrove Post Office will no longer be closing.
Last month, the Post Office in the TG Jones store on the High Street would be closing on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, prompting the local MP to launch a petition to save Bromsgrove Post Office.
At the time, the Post Office said the closure was due to “the resignation of our retail partner and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.”
However, following Bradley’s petition which was signed by more than 1,000 people, the Post Office has today (March 13th) announced that their branch in TG Jones will no longer be closing.
The Post Office has confirmed that “the branch will no longer be closing as previously scheduled for Saturday 06 June 2026, as our retail partner have rescinded their resignation.”
They’ve also said that the branch will continue to offer the same range of Post Office products and services over the same opening hours.
Following the announcement, Bradley said:
“Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, but not for Bromsgrove.
“By coming together, residents have saved this vital community service. Thank you to everyone who signed my petition. Your voices were heard loud and clearly!
“I’d like to thank TG Jones for rescinding their resignation and allowing the Post Office to stay.
“I said we needed a Post Office in the town centre, and I kept my promise by doing everything I could to fight for just that.”
