Bromsgrove South Manifesto

Manifesto for Bromsgrove South

From talking to residents, knocking on doors and researching what can be done, these are my priorities:

1. COMMUNITIES
I’ve set up performance groups with young people and been amazed by the effect it’s had! I’ll pitch for the Community Fund for local initiatives, support them myself, and work to link what’s done by churches, charities and the Councils.

2. CRIME
I will use the divisional fund to extend the rollout of theft prevention tool Smartwater. I’m setting up a meeting with the Police and Crime Comissioner to explore every option to make sure our residents feel safe wherever they live.

3. GREEN OPEN SPACES
I’ll use the communication powers of a councillor to rally the community when we need to take action and use the divisional fund to protect green spaces.

4. GREENER BROMSGROVE
We can’t solve our car problem by building more roads. I’ll work with the district council on its groundbreaking initiatives for a Cleaner Greener Bromsgrove, including electric car support.

5. MUCH-NEEDED PLAN TO TACKLE TRAFFIC
We’ve got to tackle traffic. The ONLY way we can do this is through the County Council’s infrastructure plan. There’s £54m for the A38 and a Strategic Traffic Assessment that we can utilise. I’ll not only promise, I’ll promise and deliver.

6. CHILDREN’S SERVICES
I’ve been a looked-after child, and I know the service from both sides. I will do all I can as corporate parent to encourage and protect for our looked after children.
